About Us
EIS supports SDS, Scottish Enterprise, Highland and Islands Enterprise and South of Scotland Enterprise by shaping and delivering the digital, data and technology services that enable colleagues, customers and partners to work effectively and securely. Within EIS, the Solutions & Architecture (SSA) team provides strategic and technical leadership to ensure systems, services and change initiatives are aligned to business needs, architectural standards and long-term organisational goals. The team works closely with stakeholders across the Shared Service to design fit-for-purpose solutions, guide delivery, manage technical dependencies and support sustainable, scalable and secure digital services.
Be part of something bigger — build skills, change lives!
What You’ll Be Doing
Bring your cyber security expertise to a role where your influence will shape how secure, resilient digital services are designed and delivered across SDS and its enterprise partners. As our Cyber Security Architect, you’ll work at the heart of major change, helping to ensure security is built in from the outset rather than added as an afterthought. You’ll partner with architects, technical teams, suppliers and business stakeholders to design secure solutions, challenge risk, strengthen standards and guide delivery with confidence. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact—protecting critical services, improving our overall security posture and enabling trusted, scalable technology that supports colleagues, customers and partners every day.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a collaborative and proactive cyber security professional who can bring clarity to complexity and make security an enabler, not a blocker. You’ll be someone who can assess risk, shape secure architecture, influence decisions and work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues alike. With strong knowledge of cyber security principles, secure design and governance, you’ll be comfortable challenging constructively, setting standards and helping teams deliver solutions that are secure, practical and fit for the future. Just as importantly, you’ll be motivated by making a real difference—protecting critical services and helping us build trust in the technology that supports our organisation every day.
